Call Your VIP’s

1. After you’ve stopped crying, and enjoying the moment with your new fiancé, you should CALL your close friends and family. We know it’s easy, but don’t immediately post it on Facebook. If your loved ones find out via social media, then you’ll have some pretty upset friends and family.

Get A Mani.

2. Now that you’re engaged, everyone will want to see your new bling. So whether you go to a professional or DIY, grab a friend, and have a girl’s day, to make sure your hands/nails are ready to go!

Get your engagement ring insured.
3. This might be the most boring suggestion on our list, but if your engagement ring, loses a diamond, falls down the drain, or get’s lost, you’ll be super glad you got your new prized possession insured.

Start thinking of a wedding date
4.. After all the “congratulations!” and “let me see your ring!” people will start asking you when the wedding will be. So be prepared with a time frame you actually want like “next fall” or “early next year”.

Discuss Your Budget

5. Now it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty. Have a finance conversation with your fiancé. This, for many, can be awkward, but in order to start making plans you need to know what kind of budget you’re working with. Also discuss your budget with both of your parents. This will give you an indication of whether they plan on helping out a lot, a little, or not at all.

Enjoy The Moment

6. Take time to enjoy the moment with each other. You’ve just committed to spending the rest of your life with your significant other. Take a few weeks to savor how incredible that is before you dive into logistics.
